• The much anticipated schedule is now available for download via Yapp:  http://my.yapp.us/J4Y252  Open the link on your Droid/iPhone to download the app. It contains all the important information about the Summit - schedule and venue addresses, speaker and attendee information, sponsors, emergency contacts and other useful information.  Don’t have an iPhone or Android?  We’ll have printed schedules on hand at the registration booth tomorrow.

• Did you hear the news?  Al Gore is joining us on Friday afternoon for a Meet The Leader session to close out the Summit!  His session is followed by the VIP Reception with Kiva and Founders Fund — you don’t want to miss either event.  
• Registration opens Wednesday at 2pm at the Stanford Park Hotel and runs until 6pm. It opens again on Thursday morning at 7:45am for those of you arriving late on Wednesday. 

Hotel Reservations

A special group rate has been arranged at the Stanford Park Hotel, the official Summit hotel venue, in Menlo Park.  To make reservations call the hotel directly and mention World Economic Forum for group rates (800-368-2468, 650-322-1234).  We recommend you book a minimum stay of three nights in order to participate in all Summit 2.0 events. 

Alternative hotels near the Stanford Park Hotel include:

• Best Western Plus Riviera:  0.25mi South, $219/$209/night
• Menlo Park Inn:  1mi North,  ~$199/night
• Travelodge Palo Alto:  2.5mi South, ~$105/night
• Best Western Plus Exec Suites:  2.7 miles North, $139/$149/night

Local Bay Area YGLs may be interested in opening their homes and apartments to visiting YGL.  Please with locals via the YGL Silicon Valley Summit Facebook group, the Bay Area YGL Facebook group, or your personal connections.  

Note that the buses will leave each morning from the Stanford Park Hotel in Menlo Park.  We cannot provide transportation to/from Stanford Park Hotel.

YGL Silicon Valley Summit 2.0

July 25-27, 2012

Join us this July in the Bay Area for the World Economic Forum Young Global Leaders Silicon Valley Summit 2.0.  Get an up-close look at the most powerful companies in Silicon Valley, have conversations with leaders who fund them, engage with the entrepreneurs behind exciting new start-ups, and embrace the design and innovation culture at a custom YGL session with the Stanford d.school team.   You’ll also enjoy the Bay Area summer weather with outdoor evening and cocktail events with your fellow YGLs, Global Shapers, and special guests!

Please note that this event is by invitation-only and can accommodate up to 125 registrants from the YGL community.  As space is very limited, we are not able to accommodate spouses and/or friends.  The event will be off-the-record. 

Registration:                                   

Registration opens on Wednesday, April 25, 2012.  On that date, a registration form will be emailed to YGLs along with the Summit 2.0 schedule and full logistics information.  Registration is accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis with priority given to new participants.

Dates of Summit:  Wednesday, July 25, 2012 through Friday, July 27, 2012

We will kick off the Summit with an Opening Night Reception on Wednesday 7/25 at 6:30pm and conclude on Friday 7/27 with a closing reception in San Francisco at 6:00pm hosted by the Founders Fund.  

An elective panel on Women in Technology begins on Wednesday 7/25 at 2pm and highlights women VCs, entrepreneurs, and founders. This panel is sponsored by WomenUp, a YGL initiative created in Dalian to foster the community of women in technology.
